Past University of North Carolina basketball players are enjoying a special meal thanks to a unique gesture by the late UNC Coach Dean Smith.

Smith, who coached Tarheels basketball for 36 years, left $200 in his will to each player who lettered under him, Sports Illustrated reports. The coach suggested the money be put toward a dinner out, according to the article.

Smith died Feb. 7 in his home. Sports and business reporter Darren Rovell tweeted that UNC center Serge Zwikker "teared up" when he opened the $200 check.
