Enjoying the services provided by the likes of Uber? Then don't vote for Democratic front-runner Hillary Clinton, anti-tax crusader Grover Norquist said Tuesday.

"Hillary Clinton has decided that, if she's elected, there's going to be a war on Uber and the entire sharing economy because she wants to 'crack down' on independent contractor arrangements," the founder and president of Americans for Tax Reform told CNBC's "Squawk Box."

Clinton said last summer that, by classifying employees as contractors, employers can exploit "or even steal their wages."

She also said: "This on demand or so-called gig economy is creating exciting opportunities and unleashing innovation, but it's also raising hard questions about workplace protections and what a good job will look like in the future."

Uber has built its business on the contractor model, contending that its smartphone app simply connects riders and drivers, who own their cars and pay their own expenses.

"This election is 'yes' or 'no' on the sharing economy, on Uber, on Airbnb, because the unions don't like for you to be your own boss because then you can't be forced to pay union dues," Norquist said.

Clinton's campaign did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
