These Zuckerberg Comments Matter Most: Blodget

Mark Zuckerberg said a lot of things on Tuesday but according to top Wall Street personality Henry Blodget, only a handful of his comments matter to pros.

In order to capture Wall Street's attention, ”He needed to tell the story of what Facebook could become and I think he did that,” says Blodget.

According to Blodget pros will focus on the following:

“He acknowledged that he’s disappointed in the stock’s decline. He said look, we care about shareholders."

That’s something shareholders want to hear, explains Blodget. That could have a positive impact on sentiment.

Also Blodget said pros will key into Zuckerberg's optimistic comments about mobile. "He said we can make more money per user on mobile than we can on the desktop.”

“The concern was that as people transitioned off the desktop to mobile, it would clobber revenue.” However, in the wake of this commentary, the Street will start to think that might not be the case.

And Blodget says best of all, Zuckerberg made all these bullish comments, “without promising anything this quarter.” That allowed him to manage expectations.

All told, “I think he did great,” Blodget says, adding that he thought Zuckerberg did a great job of noting that a lot of people are underestimating Facebook.
